We have seen some amazing things in our first month in Tanzania. Every night we watch from our porch in Mwanza as the sun sets over Lake Victoria in blazing glory.

As part of our visiting doctors program, Weill Cornell physicians have been working rotations at Bugando Medical Centre since early 2007.

This July, Dr. Rob Peck will have the opportunity to realize his childhood ambition to work as a doctor in Africa. With his wife, Liz, a registered nurse with particular interest in pediatrics, and his two young children, Bridgit, two years, and Jack, four months, Rob will move to Mwanza to begin a three-year post working at the Bugando Medical Centre.

Dr. Beatrice Im of New York Presbyterian hospital will join the BMC department of obstetrics and gynecology for two years beginning this July.
