Saving Lives

Because of the support from our donors and partners, the Touch Foundation has been able to train hundreds of healthcare workers. We would not be able to do this without the help of private individuals, corporations and foundations.

We have invested US $26 million in cash and in kind to train more healthcare workers. Touch is now ensuring these professionals reach patients in rural areas.

We will continue to:

Increase the number of trained medical doctors and healthcare workers.

Touch continues to maximize the training capacity at Tanzania's second largest medical college to train 12 cadres of health workers including MDs, nurses radiographers and pharmacists.

Invest in long term retention of trained healthcare workers.

Touch deploys the MDs they have trained to treat and teach in rural district hospitals, which will improve retention of these valuable individuals doing the work they were trained to do.
